Saturday April 20, 1:00 – 3:00
Free and open to the public, this will be an opportunity to meet collage
and assemblage artists to inquire about their inspiration and process
for creating their art.
The event is being held in connection with the National Collage Society's exhibit, "COLLAGE AND ASSEMBLAGE" at the Margaret Clark Morgan Gallery,10 West Streetsboro Street, Hudson, Ohio.

All collage is mixed media, but not all mixed media is collage.
How do collage artists avoid copyright infringement when they use publications as collage materials?
Who created the first fine art collage in 1912?
The NCS library of collage books will be available for perusal and each attendee will receive a free catalog.

News from Judy Carducci
PLAN AHEAD FOR FRANCE IN 2014! People are already signing up, so don't wait too long.
Judith Carducci will be back at the beautiful Domaine du Haut Baran, in the inspiring Lot river valley in the heart of Cahors wine country from July 28 through August 6 (participants leave August 7), 2014.
This break from the annual France workshop schedule that Judy has kept since 2006 will give artists who have been wanting to take advantage of this thrilling experience nearly a year and a half to plan for it. (Who knows how many more opportunities there will be? The Baran will celebrate Judy's 80th year during the workshop!)
Participants paint in medieval walled towns, on Roman bridges and cobblestones, in villages listed as the most beautiful in France. Non-painting friends and family members enjoy their own guided tours. And we visit the original prehistoric cave paintings at Pech Merle. Days wind down with drinks on the terrace followed by an elegant dinner of traditional French regional cooking.
For more information and to register, go to www.hautbaran.com, and click on the Reservation Form at the bottom of the page. For questions, e-mail William Haas at hautbaranfrance@gmail.com.

News from Karen Koch
Please join me and a group of exciting artists as we celebrate recycling, repurposing, and reusing.
The Green Art Exhibit runs April 1- 20 at the Beachwood Community Center. All artwork is made with materials that had a former life - papers, plastics, maps, glass - you name it. You will be surprised to see all the creative uses these artists can find for previously used materials.
I have 11 collages in the show that incorporate junk mail, plastic, shredded paper, and stitching.
Stop out to the Community Center for the artists' reception on Sunday, April 7 from 1:30 - 3:00.
The exhibit is available
Monday-Friday, 9am-4pm
Saturday, 10am-3pm
Sunday, 10am-1pm
