The photo exhibit represents both student and instructor images from a recent photographic geography trip to the country of Spain led by Dr. John Allensworth, Cultural Geographer, Kathie Lentz, Photographer, and Dr. Frank Erickson, Professor Emeritus at KSU. All the photographers enjoyed the rich cultural experience that Spain affords and this show reflects all those differing interests and viewpoints.
The public is always welcome on these yearly trips and information will be available at the reception about the spring 2014 trip. The photo exhibit will be on display at Robinson Memorial Hospital’s Main Lobby through September 6. Most photographs are available for purchase directly from the photographers.
HSA is a group of individuals interested in furthering arts in the community. Membership is open to artists of all ages and abilities, from professionals to beginners, and those who are interested in the arts.

Members Exhibit at the Margaret Clark Morgan Foundation Gallery
Members from the Hudson Society of Artists are showing their artwork at the gallery at the Margaret Clark Morgan Foundation from June 6-September 3.
The gallery, at 10 W. Streetsboro Street in Hudson, is open Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Stop on out and see the variety and quality of artwork by local artists. Many of the paintings are available for sale.
We were fortunate to be able to include a painting by Lowell Ellsworth Smith that had been donated to the foundation. Lowell was an active artist and founder of Hudson Society of Artists, well known for his watercolors, particularly of western scenes.

June 13-14: 50th Annual Clothesline Art Show
The first show was in 1963 when Lowell E. Smith's students hung their paintings from a clothesline on a porch on Division Street. Now, 50 years later the tradition continues. We'll celebrate that history at this year's Clothesline Art Show, June 13 and 14 at Hudson Middle School.
The Clothesline Art Show will feature a wide variety of small original artwork created by HSA members. Paintings will include original watercolors along with some oils, acrylics and drawings. Pieces are unframed, matted and wrapped in protective plastic. Approximately 200 pieces will be on display for sale, ranging from about $15 to $200.

June 3, Spring Dinner, 7:00 p.m.
Join us on Monday, June 3, as we wrap up our season with a celebratory dinner! Hudson Society of Artists will provide the main dish, but please bring a side dish to share, plus your own plate and utensils.
During the evening, we will present a scholarship award to a student from the Hudson School district.
And, you could be the lucky winner of an original painting done by Bob Moyer! Bob did a demo for us recently, and has donated the painting to us. We will draw a name, and that person will take the painting home. The only catch is that you must be present to win.

Photos from the Pop-Up Art Show
On May 12, members of the Hudson Society of Artists held a Pop-Up Art Show at the Case-Barlow Farm. The chilly weather did not dampen our enthusiasm or the attendance: both the opening reception and Pop-Up show brought steady streams of visitors. If you haven’t been to Case-Barlow Farm in a while, it’s worth a visit. The grounds and farmhouse are lovely.
Here are a few photos from the event.
