Small Format Art Meeting March 2

Monday night our meeting will be devoted to small format art. this is generally understood to mean paintings that are 8x10" or smaller. Kathy Harrington will talk about ACEOs which are artworks that measure 2.5 x 3.5" She and Karen Koch make and sell these little gems on ebay.Ann Kah will present Whiskey Paintings and explain the background and process of these watercolors.Please bring any small format pieces that you have done!

Recycle!

Free Art Supplies Distributed in Akron on Saturday Feb. 21st and 28th~Noon to 4pm

Stop by Saturday 2/21 and 2/28 from Noon to 4pm to browse and collect quality art materials. Items available at no charge include fabrics, wallcovering books, carpet tiles, framing/matting supplies, three ring binders, and ceramic tiles. These materials are brand new and are suitable for graphic arts, performing arts, and creative arts programs.

Since 2006, over 150,000 pounds of materials bound for the waste stream have been donated by architects, interior designers, and manufacturers to ZeroLandfill project teams to be distributed to arts educators and artists. Akron now joins Boston, Cincinnati, and Cleveland as ZeroLandfill communities.


Join us as we rethink disposal practices and reclassify waste from a burden on society to an economic asset for our communities. RSVP is not required, please bring your own bags or boxes. Feel free to forward this information to friends and colleagues.

News From Artists of Rubber City

Nancy Richards-Davis, Jerry Domokur and Miller Horns have work in the 72nd Area Artists Annual Exhibition at the Butler Institute of American Art, 524 Wick Avenue, Youngstown Ohio. The exhibit runs through February 22.

Miller Horns is part of Each in Their Own Voice: African-American Artists in Cleveland, 1970 – 2005, which opened January 23 and runs through March 7. There will be an artists’ reception on February 13 from 5 to 8 p.m., preceded by a gallery talk at 4 p.m. at the Cleveland State University Gallery, 2307 Chester Avenue, Cleveland.
