Chaired by Cathy Welner and Paul Adams, the show's goal is to present original works of art. Each show is juried to maintain freshness and professional quality.
Well-known art instructor Cathy Welner, founder of Art-on-the-Green, is a past president and current member of HSA, a signature member of the Ohio Watercolor Society, and a lifetime member of Whiskey Painters of America. Paul Adams is also a local art instructor, as well as member of HSA and Cuyahoga Valley Art Center.
Art on the Green is held rain or shine on the tree-shaded South Green in Hudson located at the corners of Routes 303 and 91.
Not only will art lovers discover paintings in varied media, but also collections of jewelry, pottery, woodcarving, glass, weaving, enamel, sculpture, leather, photography, garden decor, and more. The midway will be flanked by more than 150 artists--most from Ohio and surrounding states, but some as far away as Florida. All artwork and crafts are available for purchase. While meandering the green, show goers can refresh with a variety of menu selections from seven different vendors in the upper-level food court. Besides, there will be musical entertainment throughout each day.
This yearʼs Juror of Awards will be watercolorist Ron Beahn who has been painting for
over 30 years and has exhibited in shows in Ohio and neighboring states. Mr. Beahn has been involved in producing Boston Mills' nationally recognized Artfest since 1985, and has been its Director since 1995. Not only is Mr. Beahn the retired former Art Curator of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., but he has also developed an art program at Children's Hospital of Akron, Ohio. Mr. Beahn is Board Chairman of Whiskey Painters of America. He is the owner of Ron Beahn's Gallery and Frame Studio in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.
