Library Programs

The Hudson Library & Historical Society will be presenting a spring series of art programs.
On April 21, The Executive Director of the Canton Museum of Art, M. J. Albacete, will discuss the artifacts found in Tomb of Tutankhamen. Albacete’s slide show will follow archaeologist Howard Carter “from the exciting moment of discovery through the removal and conservation of many items found in Tut’s tomb.” He has made several visits to Egypt and will show the most important artifacts discovered in addition to bringing a model of the tomb. This program is made possible with the help of a grant from the Ohio Humanities Council.

The last program in the series is on May 5 and features the Master Paintings of the Butler Institute of American Art of Youngstown. The Butler collection includes works from four centuries of art from Master Artists such as Winslow Homer, Edward Hopper, John Singer Sargent, Mary Cassatt, John Sloan, Robert Rauschenberg, and Jacob Lawrence.
